Congressman Brad Sherman, second from left, joined Congressman Todd Platts of Pennsylvania, Senator John Cornyn of Texas and Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas, as President Bush on Dec. 14 signed an executive order designed to improve public access to documents. Sherman said it was a step in the right direction, but pressed for passage of legislation he and Congressman Smith cosponsored.
